Call Centers
MRI has a dedicated call centre division that offers multiple inbound and outbound services. The call centre’s main service is the Emergency Medical Service line where clients contact the centre in emergency situations.
MRI Medical Desk
The MRI Medical Call Centre is operational 24-hour, 7 days a week, 365(6) days a year and is the hub of MRI’s Emergency Medical Service (EMS) circle of care where the “first, first responder” uses specialized skills and software equipment to make the difference in the patient’s care during an emergency.
This call centre is staffed by professional nurses, paramedics, a doctor and trained emergency medical dispatchers who services most of our clients requiring both emergency and non-emergency medical services. All call handling, whether it requires advice or needing dispatching of crews in all MRI bases (Maun, Palapye, Francistown and Gaborone) is done from the Medical Call Centre in Gaborone.
The Medical Call Centre provides the following services:
- Medical Evacuation: Air and Road Ambulance Service
- Medical Advice and Information
- Assistance with Referrals to Medical Practitioners and Facilities
- Repatriation of Beneficiaries by Air and Road Ambulance, Commercial Flight (Regional and International)
- Repatriation of Mortal Remains
- Monitoring and Messaging
- Dispatch of Emergency Medicine
Our clientele comprises of individuals, corporate companies, embassies and others. Since 1992 MRI has been the Preferred EMS Provider to Botswana’s major Medical Aid Scheme namely the Botswana Public Officers Medical Aid Scheme (BPOMAS) & PULA and the Botswana Medical Aid Society (BOMAID).
