Our philosophy of continually investing back into the business has allowed us to upgrade our fleet of ground and air ambulances into state-of-the-art mobile intensive care units, fully equipped with:

-Heart monitoring equipment.

-Cardiac pacemakers.

-Intensive care medicine infusion set.

-Portable laboratory sets for analysis e.g. blood.

-Baby incubator.

Apart from the highly skilled personnel, MRI Botswana Limited has available to it; rapid response vehicles, ambulances and access to fixed wing aircraft or helicopters to ensure the most efficient and effective response possible. The inclusion of efficient and effective medical equipment ensures that the company can adequately cope with serious medical conditions, whether they involve neonates, paediatrics or adults.

MRIB Emergency Medical Services division operates at Advanced Life Support Paramedic level with direct medical oversight by the companies Medical Director who is a qualified Medical Doctor. MRIB has been contracted by the major medical aids in Botswana to provide pre-hospital emergency health care to their members.

The essence of MRI Botswana emergency services is the 24-hour Medical Desk located in Gaborone, with support bases in Maun, Palapye and Francistown. The Medical Desk forms the nucleus of expertise, information and care. Our medical Desk is manned 24 hours a day by a team of highly skilled Nurses, Paramedics, Call Centre Agents and a Medical Doctors. The Call Centre can be accessed via the emergency numbers 992 and 3901-60.

Ambulance Standbys

We provide ambulance standby services with fully equipped personnel certified to respond in any type of medical emergency where rapid access to patients can be challenging due to over – crowding.

Our resources at these venues are generally required to standby for the care of participants, but may also be involved in treating sick or injured members of the public.

We contract standby services to a variety of one-day or multi-day events, including:

  • Conferences
  • Concerts ( music or otherwise)
  • Football Games
  • Marathons i.e. 5K's and Road Races
  • Golf Tournaments
  • Cycling events
  • Motorsports events
  • Sponsored walks
  • Aerobics marathons
  • Any other type of community event 

Ground Ambulance

MRI has ambulance bases in the following areas: Palapye, Gaborone, Maun and Francistown. Their coverage is national. MRI also has a fleet that comprises of response cars manned by advanced life support paramedics and doctors, advanced life support and intermediate life support ambulances, 4x4 land rover ambulances for the tough terrains.
