This course is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in both pre- hospital and in-hospital settings. The course is aimed at learners practicing CPR and AED Skills and using advanced equipment like back-valve-mask-resuscitators. The CPR technique covers victims of all ages, i.e. infants, children and adults.

 

Target group & Pre Requisite

Health care providers may include but not limited to; nurses, doctors, paramedics, doctors’ assistants, registrars, medical and nursing students and all medical allied personnel.

BLS for health care providers’ course is a compulsory entry requirement for advanced life support courses such as ACLS, NRP, PALS, as well as certain post graduate pre- admission requirement.

Duration

+-6 hours, excluding breaks

Assessments

At the end of the training, the student’s understanding will be assessed through the following assessments;

Theory; the student is expected to get 84% and above

Practical; the student is expected to get 100%

Certificates

Upon successful completion of the training, the delegates will be issued with certificates from the American Heart Association which is valid for 2 years.
